Why do you travel?

I consider myself a highly visual person and because of the advent of social media or Pinterest, we all now have access to see these otherwise unheard of countries that are just unbelievably beautiful (some of which are mere specs on a map) thru the lens of creative people that evoke emotion or tell a story. All of a sudden we start envisioning ourselves being in those places because of these photos. Before technology though I’ve always traveled. It’s just that sometimes they take a backseat in our priority list but now there’s this self-imposed pressure to tick off these places ASAP.

Travel for me is easily the best teacher. You add value to yourself by learning more about who you are while learning about others too. You realise how small you are. You feel lost but found all at once.

What did you love most about your trip?

I loved the exclusivity. The Sky Villa in Tulum, wow nothing will ever come close to falling asleep and waking up to the sound and feel of the ocean breeze. Our salsa night in Havana was one for the books! We were so tired but the vibe was so contagious you couldn’t help but move to the beat. Peru had the best food that up until now and forever I will be craving for it.

What’s the one thing you won’t forget?

OMG. Getting spat on by a llama. What a welcome from Peru!

What will you come back for in this trip?

Azulik Tulum and Peruvian food!!

Did this trip inspire you in any way? How?

Traveling has the power to change everyone. I think you can never go back to your old self. You can’t help but grow in so many ways. Being exposed to new cultures really has an impact on one’s paradigm and outlook on life.

Why do you think Filipinos should travel?

I think regardless of nationality, everyone should try and aspire to travel. Makes you appreciate life more. Makes you understand why we must all do what we can to preserve mother earth — what we do has a ripple effect.

Any travel tips/hacks you’d like to share?

Pack as lightly as you can. Leave lots of space for coming home. Study your itinerary. Be as hands-on with travel plans by researching on your own as itinerary must match your preferences for activities.

Why did you choose to #travelwithaccess?

My cousin Julia arranged the trip for the both of us. I trust who she trusts.

What are the places in your travel bucket list?

Marrakech, Petra, Egypt, Turkey Capadoccia, India
