Access Travel and Tours client Erica Mae Pardilla shares her recent vacation to Japan, along with some pasalubong shopping tips for your own trip.
Why did you choose Access Travel and Tours?
We wanted to give it a try after seeing lot of Filipino celebrities who chose to travel with Access.
What made you decide to take a family trip to Japan? What were the things you considered when you picked this destination, or as you planned the trip?
We decided to take a family trip to Japan because my mom has always wanted to visit Japan. We built an itinerary around what she wanted to see, what would be convenient for her since she gets tired easily and which spots were famous or iconic in Japan.
Can you share with us some of your travel tips based on this trip?
Our top travel tip would be to bring an extra luggage for all the pasalubong you’re bound to buy. Once you get to your destination, a lot of the things available there are much cheaper than it is in the Philippines. If you’re bringing a camera, it’s also a good idea to bring a back-up memory card in case you need the extra space.
What are your recommendations when traveling around Japan?
We would recommend Yodobashi, a shopping chain with a wide selection of electronics; and Don Quijote, the country’s biggest discount store. Be warned though that it can get a little crowded at times!
What were your favorite experiences or moments from your trip?
My favorite experience was going to the top of Tokyo Tower at nighttime and seeing Japan light up from a bird’s eye view.
What are your travel essentials?
My travel essentials are phone, camera, lip balm, earphones or headphones, powerbank, a pair of comfortable shoes, a light carry-on bag, make up, sunglasses, and mints.
What’s next on your travel bucket list?
Next on my bucket list is a trip to the USA or Europe.
