Hello from Uganda!

I did not know what I was getting into minus the things I read up online

After my trip to Kenya, it was now time to head to Uganda. This was my first time visiting Uganda so I did not know what I was getting into minus the things I read up online. Our main goal was to see the gorillas during our hike.

It was a very eye-opening experience, Getting to see the majestic gorillas to the kids at the orphanage where we were that just touched my heart during our stay

Traveling to Uganda was quite expensive fees do add up like the plane rides you have to take, to the entrance fees of the national park, they do add up just to see the gorillas but it was all worth it and humbling to see these creatures up close and personal.

It was also a very humbling experience to see this kind of poverty super close. It goes to show that even in the unfortunate circumstances of poverty, this is where you can see true happiness that doesn’t come from material possessions. This is why we have also partnered up with an organization that takes care of the village. Hence when people book their Uganda trips with Access Travel, part of their booking will go to help orphans and kids in the village go to school.

Uganda was literally like a scene taken from National Geographic. Which I thought I’d only see on television but here I was face to face with the reality of Uganda. This got me thinking, some of us lived in a very privileged world and sometimes we forget the fact that some people across the globe don’t have access to water and other necessities.

Trekking with the gorillas for about 5 hours during the trip was one of the best experiences I had in my life. Taking photos of them up close even letting on touch my leg was a very surreal experience.

Love,

Angely
