Get that much deserved break by flying to one of our neighbor cities for a quick weekend getaway:
Food and shopping are two things this city does well so take advantage of both. Head up to Sukhumvit Soi 38 for some pad thai, satay and mango sticky rice coupled with people-watching. For something classic and a bit refined, visit one of Kalpapruek‘s various locations scattered all over the city. Burn the calories and shop to your heart’s content at Chatuchak Weekend Market or at one of the air-conditioned malls like Terminal 21, MBK, and Siam Paragon.
Take a walk around the neighborhoods of Sheung Wan or SoHo for Instagram-worthy shots. Bring your fitness gear and check out the running and hiking trails or get your dosage of sea and sand at Shek O. Fuel up with Yardbird for its yakitori, Urban Cafe for the molten egg custard croissant and The Coffee Academics for some good old coffee. You’ll never run out of options for dimsum, but Din Tai Fung and Tsui Wah are some of the well-known spots.
You might want to spend the day at the famed Changi airport but this city has a lot more to offer. Discover Singapore’s multi-cultural heritage by visiting the ethnic quarters such as Chinatown, Little India, Joo Chiat or Kampong Glam. Enjoy Gardens by the Bay‘s diverse plants and flowers, then get your fill of hokkein mee or nasi lemak at one of the famed hawker stalls around the city. Got a sweet tooth to satisfy? Visit the homegrown 2AM Dessert Bar for its well-crafted desserts and cocktails.
