Traveler Feature: Roxanne Velasco in Korea

  • November 13, 2019

We talked to Roxanne Velsaco on her third booking with us. This time, in Korea and it was during their Winter season! Read all about her experience below!

Why do you travel?

I travel to take a break from the routine and have fun. I travel to see places I’ve never been to so I can meet new people and experience different cultures. I believe you can also get to know yourself better when traveling. I travel to find my limits, both mental and physical. I try to push and do more than my limits every time I’m out traveling.

What did you love most about your trip?

Everything! Everything was just flawless. We stayed in Myeongdong and Nica our agent suggested a hotel which was very near the subway and the shopping centers. Travel schedule was perfect as well. I appreciate how AT&T really makes customized itineraries based on their client’s liking. With AT&T, I love how convenient things can be.

What’s the one thing you won’t forget in your Korea trip?

This isn’t my first time to see snow, but during our first night in Seoul we weren’t really expecting a snow fall since it has been two weeks since the last one. It was almost March so I was so surprised to see the snow fall! The next morning, we were scheduled to go to Nami and when we reached the island, it was covered with fresh snow. It was very beautiful.

What will you come back for in this trip in Korea?

They have really good food and I would love to come back for that especially the street foods in Myeongdong. Korea during winter is also very nice. My friends and I are actually planning to go back on winter again.

Did this trip inspire you in any way?

Being an aesthetics physician, I believe skin care is important. My curiosity was piqued by all the Korean beauty and skincare products they offer in Korea. Koreans have really good skin and as such, my desire to help the Filipinos be the best versions of themselves and achieve beautiful skin got stronger when I visited Korea.

Why do you think Filipinos should travel to Korea?

Filipinos should never be afraid to visit Korea. Koreans are really very friendly and helpful. Most of them speak fluent English too. They have a very unique cuisine as well and I guess it’s really worth the experience. Also, the mix of old and new is truly fun to explore when traveling in Korea. In Seoul, you can find old cultural heritage sites like palaces and traditional hanok neighborhoods yet you can also see futuristic structures everywhere. It’s a perfect mix of both.

Any travel tips/hacks you’d like to share?

Plan everything ahead. Research about the things you want to do or the places you want to visit. Research about the projected weather and plan your outfits and necessities (raincoats, boots, umbrellas, etc) based on that. It is also best to always keep a photocopy of your travel documents in your luggage. If you misplace your passport or documents, at least you have a copy with you. Lastly, take plenty of photos because they are the best souvenirs!

Why did you choose to #travelwithaccess?

This is my third time to #travelwithaccess and I can say that AT&T is the best in what they do. They give you exactly what you want but they are not afraid to give suggestions. They are knowledgeable. They also offer prompt service and they are extremely patient. I appreciate how they reach out to clients not just before the trip but even during and after the trip. Not all agencies do that. With Access, I feel special.

What are the places in your travel bucket list?

Honestly speaking, I do not really have a travel bucket list. I just grab every opportunity that comes my way but I wanna explore more of Europe next.
