Traveling will only be stressful if you don’t prepare. Here are our no-fail travel tips to keep your trips filled with smiles, relaxation, and good vibes. Read on below!
Get a good night sleep
A lot of things depend on getting a good night sleep. First, getting a solid 6 hours of sleep (or more) will help you wake up on time and arrive early at the airport on time. Second, it will help you think clearly so you don’t forget anything. Third, it will put your body in good condition so you’re not uncomfortable in your flight.
Also, just a tip, try to skip on coffee on the day of your flight. It will give you jitters, and a possible bad stomach during the flight.
Deal with all the admin-related tasks ahead
We all hate this part, so it’s better done in advance just to get it all out of the way. Imagine not worrying about checking-in or paying for extra baggage fee. Oh and don’t forget about having the local currency already in your wallet and your bank accounts ready for international transactions. Pure bliss!
Follow all airport rules
This is a no-brainer, but people seem to forget. This is especially important if you’re traveling to a foreign country for the first time. There might be rules that come up and you have to know all of that head-on.
Pack like a pro
We understand that you may not have all the time in the world to pack everything down to the last detail. Our tip is to break it down to these 3 key points: essentials (in your carry-on), personal needs, and daily outfit. Don’t overthink the third part, stick to the essentials.
Other things to consider:
Make sure passport and other documents are with you.
Keep your luggage safe and secure, invest in a good TSA-approved lock!
When you just can’t sleep on a long-haul flight, bring something that will either entertain you or make you productive. We found that a trusty book or Kindle does the trick every single time. You can also do podcasts and movies. These are things that will help you clear your head. Also, this the perfect time to fix your travel plans. Make use of this sweet time on air!
Invest in a tour guide
Hire a tour guide, even just for a day, so you have the time where you can really observe the country. Also, take this opportunity to learn from a guide. Ask him or her questions on where to go and what to do in the areas you’re eyeing on. This your chance to get a glimpse of local culture.
Learn cultural etiquette
Don’t be an ignorant traveler. Learn a few phrases in their local language and read up on the do’s and don’ts of the country’s culture. Google and Youtube are your friends as they have a thousand videos on this subject matter. This will save you trouble (and weird glances) in your trip.
Focus on the silver lining
We have to be honest, a huge part of having a stress-free travel depends on you. Do you really want to stress out on the simple things? Or do you want to just let it go and move on to your trip? We suggest the latter. When issues come up, think of solutions and most of all, the silver lining. This trip will be remembered forever, so make sure you have good vibes and memories to fill it with!
