Who says going on a vacation needs to be expensive? Definitely not us! Access presents to you these budget-friendly tips that will help you save up on expenses while still having fun while traveling:
Extend your stay
In some cases, staying longer will help diminish your expenses! Some hotels and resorts offer cheaper rates for those who opt to stay longer. Rental fees for things such as snorkelling gear, diving gear, cars and bicycles also decrease the longer you rent them.
Bring snacks and a refillable bottle
Bringing small snacks such as dried fruit or cookies will help control your sudden hunger pangs and refrain you from spending too much on food. Bringing your own refillable water bottle helps, too! Ask a cafe to fill up your bottle with water or find a water fountain in the airport and save heaps on your beverage expenses! Plus, you get points for helping mother nature, too.
Buying luggage space only adds to your list of travel expenses. Most airlines allow one personal handbag or purse plus a hand luggage of up to 7kg or 15lbs per person. Do note that it’s best to check with your airline before going to the airport to avoid sudden extra fees.
Check your currency
If you’re traveling abroad, make sure you’re well aware of your debit or credit card’s policies. Some banks will charge you for each cash withdrawal or credit swipe, so it’s better to be informed beforehand. Avoid exchanging money at the airport as it does not offer the best rates.
Find free local events
Before departing, research on your destination’s current events and activities. Many cities host free events and festivals. Immerse yourself with the culture and spend time with the locals. This can be something as fun as a walking city tour or a live concert at the park.
Take advantage of passes
Some cities have museum passes which will allow you to skip long lines or expensive entrance fees. There are also transport cards that will make your commuting experience easier. Research before your trip to get the best of these passes.
Enjoy the outdoors
Conquering greater heights this 2018 ✨ If you need some inspiration this weekend, please watch the no filter raw video I did for @fujifilmphlifestyle in partnership with @airasiafilipino. People usually misinterpret me because of my job, most of the time they think I am forever on vacation which is funny (lol) but this is actually really my job as the owner of @accesstravelph it’s my responsibility to see every destination before offering it to our clients, so I travel to make people travel, as simple as that. It seems fancy and glamorous now but no one saw how I started this six years ago and it’s harder than ever now to survive the business, I’ve never been this stressed out in my entire life, it’s not just the traveling I deal with which is really exhausting trust me working while traveling is not as good as being on vacation, I also manage the whole business, all our operations, my people and marketing while on the road. Soooo blah blah such a long story real talk no sugar coating. Whatever social media is today, I still believe every photo has a story. Maybe some people are just born to do certain things in life. ❤️ link in bio and yes I really love to talk #accesstrips #travelwithaccess
Find a hiking trail, relax by the beach or go on a simple picnic in the park. You can also stretch your muscles and enjoy walking around the city. Enjoying nature is for free, but be a responsible tourist and clean up after yourself.
