8 Days (Oct 2 - 9, 2020)
Access Expeditions

Day 1: ARRIVAL

Upon arrival at Keflavik International Airport, you will head to your hotel where you can deposit your luggage, then proceed to Blue Lagoon for a relaxing dip. After dinner, if the weather permits, you will be fetched from your hotel or from Blue Lagoon and go hunt the Aurora.

Day 2 : SOUTH COAST

We will drive along the South Coast and visit the famous Seljalandsfoss waterfall, where you can walk right behind the misty cascade, and then to the equally beautiful Skógafoss waterfall.

After lunch, you will hop on a Super Jeep that will bring you to the off-the-beaten-path tour to a natural ice cave underneath Katla volcano. You will get to experience not just the ice cave but also the lunar surroundings, moss-covered mountains and the glaciers that the South Coast of Iceland is so well known for.

After your ice cave adventure, you will also visit the village of Vík, where you can enjoy the volcanic black sand beach and the dramatic views of the Dyrhólaey and Reynisdrangar rock formations.

Day 3: VATNAJOKULL

After breakfast, we will continue driving to Vatnajökull National Park with stop-overs in moss fields and Iceland’s oldest turf church until we reach the Skaftafell.

We will also visit the Fjallsárlón Glacier Lagoon, an isolated glacial lagoon in the realm of Vatnajökull where Iceland's tallest volcano, the Öræfajökull glacier, looms above the lagoon and reaches down to the water where icebergs break off into the lake and drift serenely around before melting.

The group will proceed to the Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon where James Bond films Live and Let Die and A View to a Kill, The Game of Thrones and other famous films were shot. Here we will take a boat to cruise along the icebergs. From this lagoon, we will also see the ice beach where chunks of icebergs from the glacier flow to the ocean and glisten like diamonds on the black sand.

Day 4: EAST ICELAND

On this day, you will explore the tranquil east fjords of Iceland. You will take your lunch in Höfn, a small fishing town known for their langoustine, or the Icelandic lobster.

Afterwards, you will be driving to Egilsstaðir, the largest town in the East of Iceland, located right next to the forest and to Lagarfljót river. According to the rumors, this is where the Icelandic 'Loch Ness' lives, The Lagarfljot Worm.

Another detour that's worth doing is to visit the village of Seyðisfjörður. This colourful and artistic village is situated in a fjord that's by many considered to be one of Iceland's most beautiful fjords. This is where the ferry Smyril Line docks, connecting Iceland to both the Faroe Islands and Denmark.

Day 5: GOLDEN CIRCLE

On this day, we will head back to Reykjavik but our adventure doesn’t end yet! We will explore some of the best-known highlights in Iceland on the so-called “Golden Circle” route, including the great Geysir area with its spouting hot springs and the magnificent Gullfoss, “The Golden Waterfall.” We will also visit the beautiful and geologically unique Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where you will have the opportunity to walk in the continental rift valley near the nation’s ancient Parliament grounds and visit the deep gorges near the lake, including the Silfra crack that is popular with divers.

Day 6: SNAEFELLSNES

You will be fetched from your hotel in Reykjavik to do a day tour to Snæfellsnes. Snæfellsnes is sometimes called "Iceland in Miniature" since many national sights can be found there along with the mysterious volcano Snæfellsjokull glacier. We will visit some of its coastline views which is famous for its dramatic backdrop of beautiful mountain range and wild crashing waves and cliffs.

The group will also enjoy the romantic windswept location Budir, with its beautiful black church surrounded by endless field of lava. We will encounter the rough yet beautiful Arnarstapi fishing village, home to a wild coastline and spectacular columnar basalt. Uniquely formed basalt cliffs constantly being crashed by waves will be in the spotlight too.

We will also make a stop at the charming fishing village Grundarfjodur and finally, explore and capture its well-known landmark Mt. Kirkjufell, believed to be one of the most beautiful mountain of Iceland. If the group is lucky, there is also the possibility of catching the Northern Lights in this location.
