Christmas is around the corner and what better way to kick off the planning than mapping out a vacation with your family? We’ve got a range of tours departing just in time for the holidays!
Christmas season in Europe is a special, magical time. Aside from the usual decors or light shows, there are also a lot of special events such as Christmas markets and fairs. In Paris, you can check out the Champs-Elysées Christmas Village, where you can skate through the outdoor ice rink and ride the Big Wheel.
Italy, on the other hand, offers up delicious feasts unlike any other – from multiple courses of fish to freshly baked panettone. Up for something more exciting? You can choose to book a couple of nights in a winter resort in Switzerland, for skiing and its mountain views.
Christmas in Japan is more about couples and romance than family, so this destination makes a lot of sense if you’re only traveling for two. Dress up, enjoy the wintery weather and the twinkling landscape and LED displays, then treat your beloved to a satisfying, fancy meal.
Locals, on the other hand, are more likely to feast on chicken dinner or KFC and Christmas cake, a sponge cake decorated with strawberries and whipped cream.
Christmas in Korea is a fairly new tradition, but the country has picked up several Western traditions such as exchanging Christmas cards, giving gifts, decorating Christmas trees, organising caroling parties and attending church services.
There’s also a formal Christmas dinner to be enjoyed with the family, with the menu featuring popular Korean dishes like bulgogi, kimchi and sweet potato noodles. Kids and kids at heart will be delighted with the major theme parks’ Christmas festivals, so you can burn off your Christmas calories at Lotte World, Everland or Seoul Land.
This is where it all began, so you’re guaranteed to experience a meaningful Christmas. Sure, the weather is warm and balmy and there won’t be any white Christmas, but there are still tons of things to enjoy such as prayer services or the Midnight Mass in the Basilica of the Nativity, community walks to Bethlehem or the Nazareth parade.
You can also join in in and decorate your own Christmas tree, then shop for Christmas stocking stuffers in the Nazareth Christmas Market. Hoping to make the trip even more memorable? You can sign up for a baptismal ceremony at the Jordan River.
