Day 01: Cairo
Welcome to Egypt! Meet and welcome your local guide upon arrival, who will take you to Cairo's important attractions to begin your adventure. Begin the experience by learning about Coptic Cairo's history and Coptic Christian culture as you weave through the streets and lanes of Old Cairo. Then proceed to Abu Serga Church, one of the resting spots for the Holy Family after leaving Israel under King Herod. After that, visit Ben Ezra, one of Cairo's oldest synagogues, before continuing to Hanging Church, a church devoted to the Virgin Mary and one of Cairo's most magnificent churches. Enjoy the breathtaking sights it has to offer. Then, after a full day of sightseeing, head to your hotel to check-in and spend the night.
Day 02: Cairo
After breakfast, prepare for a drive to Giza, where you will be stopping to see its three great pyramids: Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinos. Enjoy the scenery and take photographs when you arrive. You also have the option of riding a camel. Then, head on to the famous Sphinx, the legendary guardian that stands by the huge funeral complex with its lion body and the head of King Chephren. After there, learn about the history of papyrus, the world's first paper, before continuing on to the Egyptian Museum, which has 165,000 antiquities. Here, discover the famous treasures of King Tutankhamun and nearly countless other treasures, including everyday objects, tombs, jewelry, and mummies, from the prehistoric Egyptian period through the Roman era. After a packed day, head back to the hotel to rest and stay the night.
Day 03: Cairo - Luxor
The day starts early with a journey to Cairo Airport for your flight to Luxor, the world's largest open-air museum. When you arrive, learn more about the ancient temples of Karnak and Luxor on the Nile's east bank. Then, drive to Karnak to witness its spectacular collection of temples and palaces that date back over 3,000 years. Explore the Hypostyle Hall's massive columns, the Avenue of the Sphinxes, and other features while learning about their history. After that, pay a visit to Luxor Temple to observe its columns, courts, and sculptures, as well as how Tutankhamun and Alexander the Great adorned it. Proceed to your hotel to check in after the day's adventure.
Day 04: Luxor - Edfu
Get set for a trip to the western bank of the Nile today. The Valley of the Kings is a mountain-cut royal necropolis of the ancient Egyptian city of Thebes, which is located on the site of modern-day Luxor. Continue further into its depths to explore its rock-cut chambers and tunnels, hallways adorned in vivid hieroglyphs, and painted chambers that once held the bones of ancient Egypt's pharaohs. Visit the impressive Colossi of Memnon thereafter, and then the beautiful Temple of Queen Hatshepsut. Proceed to Edfu, where you will stay for the night.
Day 05: Edfu - Komombo
Unravel the history and mystery of the Edfu Temple, which was dedicated to Horus the Falcon, the god of protection in ancient Egypt. Built between 237 and 57 BC during the Ptolemaic era, which extended between 332 and 30 BC, it is now recognized as the most complete and best preserved of all Egyptian temples. After the exploration, continue to Komombo, where you will visit the famous Komombo Temple. After that, head to your accommodations, where you will stay the night.
Day 06: Komombo - Aswan
Today, discover three of Aswan’s most popular sites: the High Dam, the Unfinished Obelisk, and the Philae Temple. Once you arrive at High Dam, see the incredible wonders of this engineering miracle. This impressive structure allows travelers to look out over Lake Nasser towards the Kalabsha temple and take in unique views of the huge power plant further to the north. Then, make your way to the unfinished Obelisk, which served as the main supply for ancient temples and colossi. After that, you're off to see the Philae Temple—possibly Aswan’s most famous site. Here, learn how this great temple was moved after the High Dam caused rivers to rise dangerously close to the ancient relic. Then, head on to Edfu, where you will stay the night.
Day 07: Aswan
Today, you will embark on the experience of a lifetime as you cruise down the Nile aboard a felucca, an ancient sailboat used by the Egyptians. Then, visit the Aswan Botanical Garden, also known as "Lord Kitchener's Island." The island was given to Lord Horatio Kitchener in the 1890s, when he was commander of the Egyptian army. Indulging his passion for beautiful palms and plants, Lord Kitchener turned the entire island into a stunning botanical garden, importing plants from the Far East, India, and parts of Africa. Now, the Royal Palm, Sabal Palm, Phoenix Palm, Ficus, and Bougainvillea trees are all magnificent and perfect for a pleasant stroll. Recharge as you enjoy an authentic Egyptian meal at a local restaurant. After that, proceed to check-in at your hotel. You have the remainder of the day at your leisure to wander around the city and see all it has to offer.
Day 08: Aswan - Cairo
Today marks the end of your experience in Egypt. After breakfast, prepare for your transfer to the airport for your flight back to Cairo, then for your flight back to Manila.
